Lesson 1: A Step into Electronics (Introduction to Electronics)
Have you ever wanted to build your own robot or control your home lights using a mobile phone? Using simple components, anyone can easily start doing such hobby projects.
When you start learning electronics, it might seem like a very complex subject. But don't worry; even the largest circuits are built by combining a few basic components. These components can be broadly divided into two categories:
1. Electronic Components The components used in circuits can be primarily divided into two categories:
Passive Components: These are fundamental components that control the flow of electricity in a circuit and store energy.
Resistor: Controls the current.
Capacitor: Stores electrical charge.
Inductor: Stores energy as magnetic energy.
Active Components: Active components fully control electricity within a circuit and function as its brain. These include Transistors, Diodes, Integrated Circuits (ICs), and Microcontrollers. (Note: The large vacuum tubes used in the past are practically no longer in use today; these small chips have replaced them.)
